From the developer: XLQ is a C++ application, which delivers live and historical worldwide stock market data to Microsoft Excel for use in formulae.

The data in Excel is automatically updated as the market changes allowing the user to track the market, maintain a portfolio or perform personalized in-depth stock analysis the way they want without the need to learn a new application, or cut and paste or download data from the web.

A task bar indicator shows the status of the program, and incorporates a stock manager.

Features:
- Has Excel formulas for the latest trade data including last price, price change, company name, exchange name, bid, ask, open, high, low, trade volume, average volume, 52 week low, 52 week high and last trade time.
- Has Excel formulas for historical stock data including opening price, closing price, days high, low and volume, which may be either retrieved for a specific date or -x days from today
- Multiple data sources may be selected, with sources available for US market data, live ECN data, as well as UK, European, and most international exchanges.
- Has a task bar indicator showing the status of the program, data retrieval status and whether historical data is up to date, with the possibility to pause and resume data retrieval.
- From the task bar there is a stock manager showing all active stocks and when they were last updated, what historical data is available, and also to delete unwanted stock information.
- Data is automatically retrieved and updated in Excel, and when there is no internet connection the last retrieved data remains available.
- A sample spreadsheet showing functionality and usage examples is provided.
